Keep row headers visible in SSRS

This article demonstrate, how to keep row header visible while scrolling down on  report page also making row header appears on each page.



Lets see step by step, as you can see here we have a sample report named RptList, and below is the preview of report.

Making row header appears on each page

You can see, on page 1,  row header is appearing that is fine but when you navigate to next that is page 2 or any other page you will see that row header does not appear as shown below.

Lets make row header appear on each page. first, press F4 to open the properties window, if you have not already opened as shown below.




After that on Design page, go to Column Groups pane and select Advanced Mode.

After that select a (Static) in Row Groups pane, and you will see that it selects first column header in report automatically, as shown below.

 

Now in Properties pane, scroll down slowly and find property RepeatOnNewPage and set it as True. By default it is false.

Once you done this, just click on Preview page and check the row header.





You will see now it appears when you navigate to page 2 or any other page.

Keeping row header visible while scrolling down on report page

There are one more case, you will notice that column header does not appear when you scroll down on report page as shown below.

Lets see how to keep row header visible when scroll down on report page.

In Design page, go to Row Groups and select (Static), After that in Properties pane find a property FixedData and set it as True as shown below.





Once you done with this, you will see row header does not disappear when you scroll down on report page.
